
Anthony Gordon sends message to Newcastle fans after journalist’s Liverpool news
Newcastle ace Anthony Gordon has taken to social media to send a puzzling message after their 3-3 draw with Liverpool on Wednesday (December 4).
According to Craig Hope of the Daily Mail, Liverpool remain keen on the 23-year-old, who reportedly grew unsettled at Newcastle during the summer following the league leaders’ pursuit.
Gordon has since signed a new contract at Newcastle, although the details remain unknown, with the club’s announcement simply describing the deal as ‘Long-term.’
Eddie Howe’s side earned a much-needed point against Liverpool, but Newcastle remain in the bottom half, sitting in 12th with 20 points from their first 14 league games.
The England international scored Newcastle’s second in the 62nd minute, putting his side 2-1 up, but his goal was quickly canceled out by Mohamed Salah just six minutes later.
Anthony Gordon focused on Newcastle despite ongoing Liverpool links
The winger has struggled so far this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist in his 16 appearances across all competitions, 14 of which have been starts, yielding a total of 1211 minutes of action.
Gordon celebrated his goal against Liverpool by running to the St James’ Park faithful and shrugging his shoulders, implying he’s paying no attention to the rumours.
He has since taken to Instagram to reiterate the sentiment, posting various images of himself from the 3-3 draw.

Newcastle are winless in their last three Premier League games as they prepare for a trip to Brentford on Saturday (December 7).
