Antonee Robinson responds to Ryan Sessegnon after Wolves win amid Fulham exit links
Fulham defender Antonee Robinson has responded to Ryan Sessegnon on social media after he scored in a win over Wolves.
The former Tottenham defender opened the scoring for the Whites as the West London club won 2-1 on Tuesday evening (26 February).
Sessegnon was played through in the first minute by Andreas Pereira, before slotting a composed finish past Jose Sa.
The goal was the left-wingback’s first for Fulham since scoring in December 2018, also against Wolves, in a full-circle moment for the former England U21 international.
The Englishman was being played higher up the pitch, with Reiss Nelson set to miss the rest of the season through injury, and new signing Willian deemed unready to start for Fulham.
Joao Gomes levelled for the home side in the 18th minute, volleying past a hapless Bernd Leno to restore parity.
Rodrigo Muniz would then score a delightful chip just two minutes after halftime to give the Cottagers an important victory.
Antonee Robinson linked with move from Fulham to Liverpool
Robinson has been linked with a move to Liverpool, as the Premier League table-toppers look to replace the fading Andy Robertson.
With Milos Kerkez of Bournemouth, and Newcastle‘s Lewis Hall also being linked with a transfer to Merseyside, the Whites will be hoping to hang-on to the talented former Everton man.

Following the 2-1 win, which sees Fulham sit just two points behind Man City in fifth, Sessegnon posted a series of images of himself in action on Instagram, captioned: “+3 on the road. Means so much to be back scoring in this shirt. Thank you to everyone that travelled tonight.”
Robinson then responded with a message saying: “Big game bro congrats.”
Ryan Sessegnon can be long-term replacement for Antonee Robinson
Football Insider Verdict
Whilst Kenny Tete and Timothy Castagne have been an assured one-two punch on the right hand side for Fulham, Robinson has been lacking a capable deputy for a few seasons now.
However, Sessegnon’s return was not a move just made out of fondness for the former academy wonderkid.
The ex-Tottenham man is viewed by Marco Silva as a genuine talent, capable of reaching the peaks that caused the North London club to shell out £30million for the then 19-year-old.
Should the American left-back leave Craven Cottage, which seems increasingly likely, the Portuguese manager can rest assured in the knowledge that Sessegnon can fill the void left by Robinson.
