Arsenal and Tottenham stars react to Eberechi Eze’s message after Liverpool swept aside

Eberechi Eze shared an emotional message to Crystal Palace fans after helping the club lift yet another trophy at Wembley.

The Eagles secured their second piece of silverware in just a matter of months as Oliver Glasner’s side beat Liverpool on penalties to win the Community Shield.

Palace twice came from behind, with Hugo Ekitike putting Liverpool ahead before Jean-Philippe Mateta levelled from the penalty spot.

Jeremie Frimpong’s cross-turned-shot restored Liverpool’s lead before the break, but Ismaila Sarr once again shone at Wembley and struck an equaliser to take the match to penalties.

Eze, who started the game, saw his spot-kick saved during the shootout, but Palace still went on to triumph against the reigning Premier League champions in front of a jubilant crowd.

Following the win, the midfielder sent a heartfelt message to supporters, reflecting on another memorable Wembley occasion for the South London side.

Premier League stars and Palace teammates react to Eberechi Eze’s message

Eze shared a series of photos posing proudly with the Community Shield after helping Palace secure yet another trophy, alongside a short but heartfelt message to supporters: “2/2. Glory to God!”

The post drew plenty of admiration from his Palace teammates, with Sarr liking the message and Adam Wharton commenting: “Eberechi!!!”.

Other Premier League stars also showed their support, including Arsenal’s Declan Rice, Tottenham’s Dominic Solanke, and Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah who all liked the message.

While the atmosphere within the squad remains positive, Eze’s future has been the subject of continued speculation this summer.

Football Insider reported that Arsenal hold a strong interest in Eze but are unwilling to meet the £68 million release clause that was active in his contract until last week.

The Englishman enjoyed a standout season in the last campaign, directly contributing to 25 goals in all competitions, and appears determined to carry that form into the new season.

Tottenham make transfer decision on Eberechi Eze after Maddison injury

Tottenham have previously shown interest in Eze, and with James Maddison recently sidelined by an ACL injury, speculation suggested the club could reignite their pursuit.

However, Football Insider revealed Tottenham are unlikely to reignite their interest in Eze despite the injury concerns in the team.

His high valuation, combined with competition from Arsenal, means Thomas Frank’s side are expected to focus on alternative creative options in the market.
