‘We are into the final’, ‘Winning this’ – Arsenal fans erupt on Twitter to Europa League draw

After dispatching AC Milan on Thursday night in the second leg of the Europa League, Arsene Wenger’s side have been handed a tie against CSKA as they go for glory in the competition.

The Gunners beat Milan 5-1 on aggregate after holding a 2-0 lead from the first leg of the tie in the San Siro ahead of the return visit of the Serie A giants.

It had looked as though they were in for a tricky night when Hakan Calhanoglu unleashed a 30-yard effort into the back of the net to give Gennaro Gattuso’s side the lead.

But the Emirates breathed a sigh of relief when Danny Welbeck was fortunate enough to have been awarded a penalty shortly before the break, which he duly dispatched.

From that point onwards, the Rossoneri never really looked as though they would get back into the tie, and so it proved.

The draw against the Russians will see the first leg at the Emirates on the 5th April with the trip to Moscow due to be played seven days later.

Fans were buoyant after hearing the draw with most certain of progression, and others who felt the competition was now theirs to win.

After the draw was announced, the Arsenal faithful took to Twitter to give their insight on the quarter-final draw and here is a selection of the responses:
