Finance guru salutes Stan Kroenke as Arsenal investigation launched – ‘All clubs should do this’

Stan Kroenke deserves credit for ordering an investigation into the culture at Arsenal.

That is the view of finance guru Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the latest from behind the scenes at the Emirates.

As per The Athletic last Monday (18 April), the Gunners have hired a consultancy firm to carry out a review of the club’s culture.

It is understood that the People-Made agency have been put in charge of the investigation and will oversee any potential reforms.

Kroenke, who owns 100 per cent of Arsenal, is claimed to have personally backed the review.

Plumley praised the initiative shown by the American billionaire to instigate cultural change behind the scenes.

“I think this is a good idea,” the Sheffield Hallam University expert told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.

“We see businesses do this type of thing all the time, so why not football clubs? It’s quite refreshing.

“People talk about organisational strategy and culture being really important. It’s good to see Kroenke is getting someone in to have a look at that.

“It looks like a strong move all around. It would be interested to see the findings, although I doubt any of it will make it out.

“All clubs should do this. It makes sense to get down in the detail.”

Arsenal are currently 4th in the Premier League with just five games to go.

They have not qualified for the Champions League since the 2016-17 season.
