Arsenal ‘very interested’ in signing Alexander Isak after new twist – Insider
Arsenal are plotting a move to sign Newcastle United star Alexander Isak after the latest development surrounding his contract.
That is according to former Man United, Sunderland and Tottenham scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the Gunners are “very interested” in the striker.
This comes just days after Football Insider revealed that the 25-year-old could push to leave Newcastle after contract talks were delayed over growing concerns.
Isak has been a long-term target for the Gunners, who have been closely monitoring the striker’s performances and contract situation at St James’ Park.
While he still has three and a half years left on his current contract which runs until 2028, sources say he could look for a way out despite the club’s desire for him to commit to new terms.
This has put the transfer team at the Emirates on red alert and they are now said to be considering their options ahead of a potential swoop.

Brown previously told Football Insider that, despite the form of Kai Havertz, Arsenal are still interested in signing a top-class forward to lead the line.
Now, the former scout who spent over a decade at Man United during their most successful period and has a wealth of experience in top-level recruitment, insisted that the Gunners could take advantage of the failed contract talks.
“That’s the way things are,” he told Football Insider about the striker’s situation.
“Very often, keeping your own players is as difficult as recruiting new ones.
“Particularly if, as I’ve heard, he’s weighing up his future at the club and whether to sign a new deal.
“He’ll want to see a clear and ambitious vision from the club through signings and performances to get them into European competitions.
“Without that, I’m not surprised he’s fed up and considering whether it’s time to move on.

“In terms of interest in him, he’d be an asset to almost anybody in the Premier League.
“From what I’ve heard, Arsenal are very interested and have been watching him, so I could see that happening if he decides to leave.”
