Wenger delivers transfer updates on star midfielder and international ace

Arsene Wenger has revealed that Arsenal have no interest in signing England keeper Joe Hart, while Bournemouth are yet to make an offer for star midfielder Jack Wilshere.

The Mail claimed the Gunners are keeping tabs on Manchester City goalkeeper Hart who remains on loan with Serie A side Torino.

The Independent’s chief football writer Miguel Delaney quoted Wenger on his personal Twitter account, ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Hull City.

Wenger was tight-lipped as he revealed that there had been no formal offer from Bournemouth to sign Wilshere on a permanent basis, while stating that Hart was not on his shortlist.

“No move from Bournemouth for Jack Wilshere,” Wenger said. “No interest in Hart.”

The Mirror also quoted Wenger as saying that he has faith in his current options between the sticks, in Petr Cech, David Ospina and Emi Martinez.

“I have three world class goalkeepers and I’m happy with the three I have,” Wenger said.

It is believed that England international Hart is available for £15million if the Gunners do look to buy him in the summer from Pep Guardiola’s City, as he continues to impress at Torino.

In terms of outgoings, Wenger refused to rule out allowing Wilshere to leave the Gunners but simply confirmed that there had been no bid for the 25-year-old midfielder.

The 34-time England international has starred for Eddie Howe’s Cherries while on loan at the Vitality Stadium, as he looks to push his injury demons behind him.

With less than 18 months remaining on his current Arsenal contract, a summer move away could be on the cards for Wilshere.

Football Insider verdict:

For most Premier League sides, Hart would be fantastic signing. Reportedly available for £15million, the commanding goalkeeper would be seen as a bargain and Arsenal should look to sign the City stopper with Cech turning 35 at the end of the season. Signing Hart would spell the end for either Colombia international Ospina or back-up goalkeeper Martinez, as they currently struggle for game time. However, Arsenal should look to keep midfield ace Wilshere as he still has plenty to offer and has proven that by getting back into the England set up under manager Gareth Southgate. With his injury nightmares seemingly behind him, Wilshere should be brought back to the Emirates and offered a new contract.
