Aston Villa fans give verdicts on whether Grealish should start against Bristol City

By Danny Wright

Aston Villa fans are largely undecided on whether or not Jack Grealish should return to the starting line up for their Championship clash with Bristol City on Tuesday.

A number of supporters believe that Andre Green is a better bet than the 21-year-old.

Grealish has been an unused substitute in the last two Villa games as Steve Bruce seems unwilling to give the winger much game time since his red card against Nottingham Forest in early February.

Grealish watched on as his teammates recorded a first victory since Boxing Day against Derby on Saturday.

Green started in the 1-0 win over Steve McClaren’s side and the 18-year-old could be called upon again to start ahead of Grealish.

However there could be hope for the England under-21 star as Leandro Bacuna, who played a central role against the Rams, will miss the game through suspension.

The former Notts County loanee has made 27 appearances for Villa in all competitions this season but has only contributed two eight goals, with three in his name and five assists.

Fans are becoming increasingly concerned that Grealish will not reach his potential at the club after being rated so highly as he was coming through the ranks of the club’s academy.

Now Villa take on Bristol in an important game that could see the Birmingham-based side ease relegation fears and let them begin focussing on rebuilding ahead of next season.

Supporters are pretty much torn on who should start against Bristol and some have gave their verdicts on the overall ability of their academy products.
