Aston Villa star Rogers responds as Bellingham shares Club World Cup excitement

Recently appointed Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso can re-establish a winning culture for Los Blancos by leading his side to Club World Cup glory this summer.

Meanwhile, taking to Instagram [16 June], Bellingham wrote: “Madrid. Miami. Preparing for the Club World Cup!”

Rogers commented with a microphone emoji, while his future remains in doubt as Aston Villa look to balance the books after failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Bellingham will benefit from Alonso’s management at Madrid

Bellingham stunned the footballing world when he notched a return of 23 goals and 13 assists during his first season with Madrid in 2023/24, establishing himself as one of the best attacking midfielders in the game.

Bellingham could become even better under Alonso

The Birmingham City academy graduate never managed a haul greater than 14 goals and six assists while he was with German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund.

But last season, Bellingham’s numbers dropped somewhat, even though he still managed the highly respectable return of 14 goals and 13 assists.

Alonso’s arrival should help the 21-year-old get back to his attacking best, as he successfully worked alongside the likes of Florian Wirtz at Bayer Leverkusen.

Wirtz is close to joining Liverpool after helping Leverkusen win both the German Cup and the Bundesliga title in 2024, and Alonso should be able to get a similar output from fellow attacking midfielder Bellingham.

This summer’s Club World Cup allows the former Spain international to establish a strong relationship with Bellingham ahead of next season.
