Aston Villa player ratings v Hull: Duo get 8/10, 25-year-old gets 4/10
Attackers
Ahmed El-Mohamady 7 – Consistent as ever from the Egypt international, as he impressed on the right flank. His desire to get the ball into the Hull box at any given opportunity threatened the Hull back four constantly.
Henri Lansbury 6 (replaced by Chris Samba, 90 mins) – Hard-working display from Lansbury but his Villa career is yet to take off. Kept things simple but needs a moment of brilliance to give the confidence to reach his best.
Gabriel Agbonlahor 8 – A live wire in Aston Villa’s side as he equalled his goal tally for the last two seasons with his first-half strike from close range. Looked like the old Agbonlahor.
Scott Hogan 7 (replaced by Josh Onomah, 78 mins) – Looked sharp in the opposition penalty box and fashioned a number of his own chances, but is lacking the goalscoring touch after plenty of time on the sidelines. Good effort.
