Aston Villa told to complete Conor Gallagher signing after £30m update – expert
Aston Villa should sign Conor Gallagher if Chelsea are considering selling him.
That’s according to ex-Villains and Scotland boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about his former side’s hunt for a new midfielder.
Birmingham Live reported on 20 June that Villa are aware of Gallagher’s situation and Chelsea value him at £30million.

It is claimed Villa still want to bring in another midfielder despite signing Boubacar Kamara on a free transfer from Marseille at the beginning of the window.
McLeish claims the 22-year-old can thrive under Steven Gerrard if he makes the move to Villa Park.
“Stevie likes flair players, he wasn’t one himself, he had a bit of everything” McLeish told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild
“But he likes those players who have a bit of flair going forward. Gallagher made such an impact at Crystal Palace last season.
“I think he would be a good asset. He would be a good asset to any club in the Premier League other than maybe the top four.
“If Chelsea are considering selling him, Villa are trying to get a foothold in the top end of the table, he would be a good signing.
“He’s young and he’s stiller learning. He’s a terrific asset.”

Gallagher spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Crystal Palace and his form earned him his England debut.
He now has four caps to his name but is yet to make his senior competitive debut for Chelsea.
In other news, Aston Villa are willing to listen to offers for a ‘whinging’ star.
