Au revoir Arsene – Five greatest Tottenham games against Wenger’s Arsenal

1. Tottenham 5 – 1 Arsenal (22/01/2008)

The moment everything changed in north London – even if it was a slow burning change over the years.

After a nervy first leg of the semi final, which finished 1-1, Spurs exploded out the traps and gave their rivals both barrels in a dominant performance – with a scoreline to match.

With a 2-0 lead at half time, thanks to Jermaine Jenas and an own goal from Nicklas Bendtner, and a place in the final within sight, the Lilywhites refused to take their foot off the pedal and continued to walk all over Wenger’s men.

Robbie Keane was the next to score just minutes after the restart, and an Aaron Lennon goal put Spurs well out of sight, Emmanuel Adebayor’s strike a mere consolation, while Steed Malbranque put the icing on the cake with his last minute effort.

A fitting way to march on to the final, which resulted in the Lilywhites picking up the trophy – but their derby day win would have been just as sweet.

In other Tottenham news, the club’s top target must be a powerhouse sensation after a big money revelation.
