Aubameyang is ‘unravelling’ at Arsenal after major new development – pundit

Kevin Campbell has suggested Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is ‘playing’ for a move after his recent disciplinary breach.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Highbury favourite said the 32-year-old’s Arsenal career “is unravelling” ahead of the January transfer window.

On Tuesday, a statement confirmed Aubameyang will no longer be club captain after returning late from an authorised trip abroad last week.

The striker was not considered for selection against West Ham last night, with Alexandre Lacazette leading the side to a 2-0 win at the Emirates.

Campbell believes the end is nigh for Aubameyang, even though he signed a new mega-money contract last year.

“I question whether this is all a play to move,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“It’s not as if his form has been great. Normally, when your form isn’t great, you focus on getting back into a rhythm. But the opposite seems to be happening. Aubameyang is unravelling.

Arsenal

“Arsenal are doing the right thing. If the player wants to leave you try and do business. Do it as quick as possible. There is no point in having a player that does not want to be there.

“If he wants to stay and he wants to fight he needs to come out and show that in the next couple of weeks. Let’s be honest, if he doesn’t then we know what is going on.”
