‘Baffling, just awful’ – Tottenham fans rage at one Igor Tudor player decision vs Fulham

Tottenham fans have been left stunned that striker Dominic Solanke played the full 90 minutes in defeat at Fulham.

Solanke was handed his first start under Tudor, after coming on as a substitute during his first game in charge against Arsenal.

Tudor’s winless start to life as Spurs‘ interim manager continued, with Fulham prevailing 2-1 at Craven Cottage thanks to first half goals from Harry Wilson and Alex Iwobi.

The defeat keeps Spurs just four points above the Premier League relegation zone, with Tudor’s side thankful that both West Ham and Nottingham Forest failed to win their games this weekend.

Tottenham fans ‘can’t understand’ Dominic Solanke decision

Tudor needs to learn fast about his Spurs players amid the relegation fight the club currently find themselves in.

Supporters were confused by the decision not to bring Solanke off during the game, with Tudor instead replacing the likes of Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani up-front.

Solanke only had five touches in the opposition’s penalty area and one shot on goal during his 90 minutes on the pitch, whilst also failing to win any aerial duels.

Richarlison came off the bench to score Spurs’ consolation goal, and the Brazilian has scored eight Premier League goals this season, whilst Solanke has only netted twice.

One fan claimed that Solanke had ‘done nothing’ against Fulham, whilst another supporter called the 28-year-old an “awful” footballer.

Options emerge to replace Guglielmo Vicario

Spurs are continuing to sound out targets to replace goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario in-between the sticks next season.

It feels increasingly likely that Vicario will leave the club in the summer, no matter if they retain their Premier League status.

Vicario has come under scrutiny from the fanbase this season, with the Italian considered weak from set-piece situations.

A return to Italy could be on the cards for Vicario, who has been linked with a move to either Juventus or Inter Milan.

Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford, and Crystal Palace‘s Dean Henderson, have both been mentioned as successors to Vicario at Spurs.

Trafford is searching for a move away from Man City, amid his number two status at the club behind Gianluigi Donnarumma.
