Bournemouth ‘expect to receive Antoine Semenyo bids’ in January – Insider
Bournemouth are bracing to receive offers for Antoine Semenyo in the January transfer window amid interest from some of the Premier League’s top clubs.
This is according to former Man United, Aston Villa and Tottenham scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 24-year-old’s recent performances have inspired plenty of interest.
Brown previously told Football Insider that Bournemouth will look to price the winger out of a move away amid growing interest.
However, there is a growing feeling that their resolve is set to be tested in January.
So far this season, Semenyo has scored four goals and provided one assist in ten Premier League games including a strike in the 2-1 victory against Man City.
The Cherries are now on a five-game unbeaten run, having beaten both Arsenal and City while drawing with Aston Villa in their last three games.
Brown has insisted that the Ghanaian’s performances in these games have proved that he can perform at his best level against the division’s top sides.
As a result, several clubs are said to be lining up bids for his services in the January transfer window.
Bournemouth prepared for Antoine Semenyo bids after Man City display
Football Insider revealed in October that Newcastle, Tottenham and Arsenal are among the clubs who have been tracking the winger’s progress.
Brown, who recalled watching Semenyo during his loan spell at Newport and has a wealth of experience in player recruitment at the top level, insisted that there are “a lot of clubs” considering a move to sign him in January.
“Performances like that one against City will always inspire interest,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s gone above the level I ever expected him to hit when I first watched him at Newport.
“Now, he’s proving he can be effective against the best sides in the country.
“I know there are a lot of clubs, including some of the top clubs, who are interested in him.
“I’m told they’ve been tracking his progress very closely.
“Bournemouth will be expecting offers for him in January and probably going into the next transfer window as well if he keeps up his form.
“He’s one of these players where he’s very strong and quick, but he’s got great feet and he’s now proving he’s dangerous in the box.
“He’s also got a determination about him which counts for a lot at this level.

“I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see one of the big Premier League clubs make a move for him in January, particularly the ones who have been looking at wingers.”
In other news, Arsenal are plotting to sign a “superstar” winger in January.
