Bruno Guimaraes shares Newcastle training ground update pre-Man City showdown

Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes took to social media to share a training ground update ahead of their crucial Premier League clash with Man City on Saturday (February 15).

The 27-year-old was hooked off by Eddie Howe at half-time in their controversial 3-2 FA Cup win over Birmingham City on Saturday (February 8).

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former PGMOL chief and ex-FIFA official Keith Hackett could not understand why goal-line technology was not in operation to review Joe Willock’s first goal.

Newcastle will face Fabain Hurzeler’s Brighton in the fifth round of the FA Cup following the South Coast side’s 2-1 win over Chelsea.

Howe’s side go into the game against Man City sitting in sixth place, level on points, goal difference, wins, draws, and defeats with the current champions.

Football Insider revealed (February 7) that Newcastle have no intention of resting on their laurels and are preparing for a big summer spending spree.

The Brazil international has unsurprisingly been key for Newcastle this season, starting 27 of his 31 games across all competitions, scoring two goals, and providing eight assists in his 2514 minutes of action.

Guimaraes took to Instagram to share a training ground update with the fans, clearly determined to get the better of City.

Football Insider revealed in November that the £100million release clause in Guimaraes’ contract had been removed amid interest from Pep Guardiola’s side.

Newcastle will face two top-four sides in consecutive games after the Premier League match with City, first Nottingham Forest and then Liverpool.
