Sources: Weghorst holds talks at Burnley training ground as £12m deal edges closer
Burnley are in advanced talks to sign Wout Weghorst from Wolfsburg after he visited their training ground, Football Insider understands.
The 6ft 6in forward, 29, wants to come to the Premier League and the Clarets are trying to agree a deal after it initially broke down last week.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Weghorst has held talks at Burnley’s training ground as he looks to push through the transfer.

The Turf Moor side are looking to seal a £12million plus add-ons deal prior to Monday’s 11pm January transfer deadline.
The Premier League strugglers have targeted a move for Weghorst to help fill the void left by Chris Wood’s departure to rivals Newcastle United.
Weghorst, a Dutch international, signed for Wolfsburg in 2018 and is under contract at the Volkswagen Arena until 2023.
He has scored seven goals in 24 appearances across all competitions this term and reached 25, 20 and 18 strikes in the three previous seasons.
Like Burnely, his Wolfsburg side are struggling near the bottom of the Bundesliga table and have not won in 11 matches.
It is a remarkable fall from grace for a club who qualified for the Champions League last season.
Wide man Maxwell Cornet is Burnley’s top scorer this season with six goals in 12 appearances.
Striker Jay Rodriguez has hit the back of the net five times, while Wood scored just three goals before his big-money move to the north east.

Only Norwich have scored fewer than Sean Dyche’s side 16 goals this term.
Next up for the Clarets is a crucial relegation six-pointer against Roy Hodgson’s Watford next Saturday (5 February).
