Campbell in awe of Leeds after ‘massive’ £100m+ reveal
Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Leeds United after it was revealed the club resisted multiple offers for their top players during the transfer window.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker claimed “it is massive” that Marcelo Bielsa has managed to keep all of his key personnel for the 2021-22 campaign.
As quoted by Leeds Live (23rd August), Whites chief executive Angus Kinnear revealed in programme notes that over £100million of interest in their players had been ‘vigorously resisted’ this summer.

There has been much speculation around the futures of Raphinha, Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford this summer but all remained at Elland Road beyond Tuesday’s deadline.
Campbell stressed the importance of Leeds keeping their best players if they want to build on last season’s ninth placed finish.
“It’s massive [to keep hold of key players],” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“When you’ve had a good season in the Premier League other teams want to pick your best players up, especially when you’re a newly-promoted side. They want to leave you weak.
“Leeds have had the strength of mind to resist the offers, serious money, and keep their best players.

“I’m sure most of the boys there are on decent money now. The majority of them love playing for Leeds so why would you sell them if you’ve got aspirations of climbing up the table?
“Well done to Leeds for keeping hold of their big players. Now they need to start winning games. It’s been a disappointing start to the season so hopefully they can start picking up points after the international break.”
