Carney Chukwuemeka backed to quit Chelsea after deal agreed – pundit
Carney Chukwuemeka may leave Chelsea on loan this summer, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Aston Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer claimed Chukwuemeka will not get a lot of game time at his new club.
Chelsea confirmed last week (7 August) the surprise £20million signing of the 18-year-old who had entered the final 12 months of his Aston Villa contract.
Sources told Football Insider last month (18 July) that he wanted £100,000-a-week to sign a new deal at Villa Park.
“Aston Villa did exactly the right thing,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“Nobody is bigger than the club, nobody is bigger than the academy. You don’t want anybody coming through thinking they can demand silly wages that they haven’t earned yet.
“Steven Gerrard, with the career that he’s had, will be thinking ‘How dare you ask for that money? I didn’t get that sort of money until I was an England international.
“Chukwuemeka, these agents sometimes get control of things and the going rate for young players now is big wages in some clubs. Chelsea are renowned for it with the players they bring through.

“He hasn’t gone there because he wants to play more regularly, he’s gone there because they’ve agreed to the wages.
“It’s just strange. Will they loan him out to a Championship club or a different league like they do with a lot of their youngsters? I don’t think he’s going to play a lot of football this season.”
In other news, Chelsea have been backed to complete the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after an update.
