Carney Chukwuemeka responds to Everton and West Ham offers to agree move
Carney Chukwuemeka has turned down offers from Everton and West Ham in favour of joining Borussia Dortmund, sources have told Football Insider.
The 21-year-old is in Germany today where he will undergo a medical at Dortmund’s training facilities before putting the finishing touches on the loan move.
Chelsea had been open to his departure in the mid-season window as he is no longer a part of Enzo Maresca’s plans, placing a number of English and European clubs on red alert.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 31 January that Everton were working to get a “complicated” deal over the line in the window’s closing stages.
The Toffees had been joined by West Ham, but a move to Germany was favoured as he will follow a similar route to the likes of Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham.
Playing in the Bundesliga with Dortmund is seen as the ideal next step for his career, in a deal which works for all parties as Chukwuemeka will be allowed to display his talents with regular game time.

There is a belief that he will have to prove himself at the top level as a result of his lack of playing time since his move to Stamford Bridge.
So far this season, the attacking midfielder has played just 130 minutes of football across five appearances in the Europa Conference League and EFL Cup.
As a result, he was keen to leave Stamford Bridge in search of improved playing time, and Dortmund quickly moved to the front of the queue for his signature.

Born in Austria, the England under-21 international is fluent in German and is not expected to face any difficulties adapting to the change of location.
