Celtic backed to accept £15m Liel Abada bid after source’s reveal – pundit

Alan Hutton has claimed Celtic would not be able to turn down an offer of £15million for Liel Abada.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers defender said there is “no reason” the 20-year-old won’t be worth a high price next summer.

On Tuesday (27 September) sources told this site that the Hoops are confident the Israel international will be worth £15m-plus by next year.

The club have been “thrilled” by the winger’s progress since his arrival from Maccabi Petah Tikva for around £3.5million last year.

The Celts are expecting Abada to continue to develop quickly under Ange Postecoglou.

The Israeli has four years left on his contract at Parkhead.

Hutton said clubs like Celtic and Rangers can’t afford to turn down high offers for players.

I think if £15million comes in for any player, whether it be Rangers or Celtic, they’ll go if I’m honest,” he told Football Insider.

In recent years we’ve seen some of the prices, go back to even [Kieran] Tierney and [Joe] Aribo and [Calvin] Bassey, these kind of guys. When that sort of figure comes in, you can’t turn it down.

I think Abada is a great player. Not only will he take things on and make things happen but he loves to score goals and get in at the back post. He’s done that already this season. He’s playing at a high level, if he continues that there’s no reason why he can’t be worth that amount of money.

But if a solid bid of £15m comes in for any player I think it would be accepted.
