Confirmed Celtic line-up v Motherwell: 22-year-old returns in one change

By Matt Farr

Brendan Rodgers has made just one change to his Celtic side to face Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

22-year-old defender Jozo Simunovic comes in to the side, while Erik Sviatchenko drops out, following the 6-0 thrashing of Inverness a week ago.

Craig Gordon, Kieran Tierney, Dedryck Boyata, Mikael Lustig, Nir Bitton, Liam Henderson, Scott Brown, James Forrest, Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele all retain their places.

Celtic announced their confirmed line-up on the club’s official Twitter account ahead of kick-off.

Unsurprisingly, Dembele once again leads the line for Celtic, with the France U21 international faced with the prospect of netting a possible three consecutive hat-tricks – following his back-to-back hauls against St. Johnstone and Inverness.

Rodgers has chosen not to risk striker Leigh Griffiths for the clash, with the 26-year-old not yet back to full fitness following a calf injury.

The Scotland international may not have had a big role to play against Motherwell, but the Celtic boss had earlier revealed that he was not to return to the line-up.

A win for Celtic would see the Glasgow juggernaut roll on, sending them an incredible 27 points clear of second-placed Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.

They remain undefeated in all domestic competitions this season, and are firm favourites to lift the domestic treble.

In other Celtic news, January signing Kouassi Eboue has sent a Twitter message to fans after making his first appearance for the club on Friday.
