Celtic fans blast defensive ace for his performance against Dundee

By Amir Mir

Celtic recorded a tough 2-1 win against Dundee on Sunday afternoon – and fans on Twitter have blasted Keiran Tierney’s performance.

The 19-year-old defensive ace started the game for Brendan Rodgers side but produced a poor display throughout the match.

Tierney’s ability on the ball was questioned, especially when he nearly gifted the home team a goal because of his wayward passing.

Certain sections of the Celtic support stated that he should be dropped from the team as they believe a rest will do him good.

It was a quiet opening period from both teams, with the home side happy to defend and the Hoops failing to add any threat in the final third.

However, after a number of corners late into the first half, centre-back Jozo Simunovic scuffed shot found the back of the net.

After the break, Rodgers side provided more threat with James Forrest’s brilliant cross finding Stuart Armstrong in the box who doubled the lead.

There were times when Tierney’s defensive ability was questioned as he failed to provide any solidity or attacking threat during the game.

However, he was not the only one being blasted by supporters, attacking duo Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele were also criticised.

Overall, the Parkhead faithful were not happy with Tierney’s display but they were pleased to earn the three points in what was sluggish display from the runaway SPL leaders.
