Celtic fans rage over ‘disgusting’, ‘pathetic’ official announcement – ‘Sack the board’

Celtic fans are incensed with the club’s board after yet another announcement was made that prompted further outrage.

Deep issues are emerging at Celtic, with fan sentiment towards the club’s board growing more and more toxic by the day.

A recent annual meeting was abandoned due to disruption, with some shareholders chanting for the board to be sacked.

Celtic will not be short of offers if Dermot Desmond does decide to sell the club, but such action is yet to look likely.

Celtic fans fume over ‘pathetic’ club action

Celtic have announced that they will be extending the ban on the club’s supporters group, the Green Brigade.

The group were initially banned in November, after exhibiting “violent and threatening behaviour” in a 4-0 victory over Falkirk at Celtic Park.

But Celtic now say the suspension has been extended after safety incidents that include “direct threats against the club’s head of safety and security operations”.

The ban will remain in place until Celtic are satisfied that the Green Brigade “will engage in the safe operation of the stadium”.

The first six rows of the front section of the rail seating section at Celtic Park have been closed, with the Green Brigade’s season tickets and access to tickets, home and away, suspended.

Celtic fans responded angrily to the announcement on social media, with one calling the decision “pathetic”.

X user Joe shared a more damning verdict, and said: “Disgusting! Get out [of] our club!”

“Don’t give them another penny other than your match ticket money,” encouraged one disgruntled fan.

User BhoyinRed made his feelings clear and said: “Back the Green Brigade. Sack the board.”

Wilfried Nancy set for induction of fire

A penny for the thoughts of Nancy, who is walking into a club currently shrouded in protest.

Martin O’Neill has served as a brave face for the period in which he has guided the club away from the negativity on the pitch at the end of Rodgers‘ tenure, but the Northern Irishman is powerless to calm the disruption above.

Results have improved dramatically on the pitch, with Celtic having won four consecutive games going into O’Neill’s send-off against Dundee FC at Celtic Park on Wednesday.

After that, Nancy will take over the reins and inherit an incredibly tumultuous situation, and he will be without the decades of experience that his predecessor benefited from.
