‘Stinker’ – Celtic fans blast attacker for performance in win against Partick
Celtic eased to a 2-0 win over Partick Thistle at Celtic Park on Wednesday night but attacker Scott Sinclair struggled to really impose himself on the game, leaving fans to blast him for his display on Twitter.
The former Manchester City and Chelsea winger has struggled for a number of weeks but seems to be undroppable from Brendan Rodgers’ side.
The Englishman was replaced in the second-half by youngster Mikey Johnstone, just a few minutes after having a big hand in Kieran Tierney’s goal.
Fans were less than impressed with Sinclair’s performance against Partick – with one fan calling him “Mrs. Rodgers.”
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:
Sinclair has made 31 appearances for the Hoops this season, scoring 15 times and contributing 11 assists, as the Hoops have opened up a six-point lead at the top of the Scotttish Premiership.
Brendan Rodgers’ side face second-place Aberdeen this weekend and could do the Dons’ hope of challenging for the title a huge blow.
Sinclair scored 25 times in 50 appearances last season as Brendan Rodgers’ side won an unprecedented unbeaten domestic treble during their record-breaking 69-game run.
The 28-year-old joined Celtic from Aston Villa in 2016 and has had spells with West Brom, Wigan, Birmingham City, Crystal Palace and Bristol Rovers.
In 2012 the winger was part of the Britain squad at the London Olympics.
