Celtic player makes surgery revelation on Instagram, post then removed
By James Black
Celtic midfielder Scott Allan has undergone surgery to cure a groin problem whuch has kept the midfielder out of action while on loan at Dundee.
Allan posted a photo to his personal Instagram account, which has since been removed, after the operation and gave a thumbs up – presumably indicating it had been a success.
The injury first flared up during the Ibrox defeat by Rangers forcing Allan off the pitch during the first-half and the 25-year-old has barely been since.
Since joining Dundee, Allan has made nine appearances for Neil McCann’s side and it’s unclear how long he could be out of action for.
Allan has struggled to make any impact whatsoever at Celtic since joining the Hoops in 2015 and spent last season on loan at Rotherham, where he also failed to make any real contribution.
The midfielder then moved to Dundee on a season-long loan deal after making his senior breakthrough along the street at Dundee’s bitter rival Dundee United.
The 25-year-old grew up a Rangers fan and was widey expected to join the Light Blues in 2015 before ending up across the city with rivals Celtic.
Since making his senior debut in 2010, Allan has disappointed many who tipped him for big things with a failed stint with West Brom also under his belt after spending two-and-a-half years with the Baggies without playing a single game.
Allan signed a four-year deal with Celtic in 2015 but has only made 13 appearances for the Hoops and is yet to play a single minute under Brendan Rodgers.
