Celtic player ratings v Hearts: Quartet get 9/10, one gets 4/10

Attackers

James Forrest 9 – Built on his winning goal in Rosenborg on Wednesday with another fine, effervescent display that saw him put Hearts to the sword. He seems to have more confidence about him, and willing to try things that he perhaps previously would refrain from doing.

Callum McGregor 7 (replaced by Tom Rogic, 75 mins) – Glimpses of brilliance from the Celtic academy product, but is probably better suited to a midfield role alongside Brown. Assist for Celtic’s third and scored the side’s fourth, but was also slightly wasteful when shooting.

Scott Sinclair 8 – Continues to ooze class and playing with a confidence that is sky high. On hand to bundle home a corner, showing his goalscoring pedigree. Also provided a wonderful assists for McGregor and Celtic’s fourth.

Leigh Griffiths 9 (replaced by Jonny Hayes, 67 mins) – The Celtic number nine’s presence in the side has been missed. Against Rosenborg, the Hoops were without a focal point. But against Hearts, everything went through Griffiths. Quick feet for the first goal, Griffiths was on hand to head home a second.

In other Celtic news, Rodgers is confident of securing a deal with this 25-year-old playmaker.
