Celtic plot Caoimhin Kelleher raid after ‘big’ reveal – sources
Celtic are long-term admirers of Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, with a big decision to be made over his future in this window.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that there is also Premier League interest in the 25-year-old after an impressive season at Anfield.
If Liverpool allow Kelleher to leave, they will enter the market for a replacement, with Adrian also expected to leave this summer.
The goalkeeper views this summer as the ideal time to move if he is to become the first choice at another club and also the first choice for the Republic of Ireland.
This comes just days after Football Insider revealed the Irish shot-stopper is planning to push for a move away from Anfield this summer as he is keen to be the first choice elsewhere.
Caoimhin Kelleher could leave Liverpool to join Celtic this summer
Given the injury issues suffered by Alisson this season, Kelleher has been tasked with filling in on multiple occasions, and his performances have inspired top-level interest in his availability.
He has featured 26 times this season across the Premier League, Europa League, League Cup and FA Cup, keeping five clean sheets including one to keep Chelsea out in the League Cup final.
On top of that, he has started two of the last three games for his country, and is now looking to cement his place ahead of Southampton keeper Gavin Bazunu, who will miss the rest of the year after rupturing his achilles tendon.
Celtic’s interest comes as they search for a replacement for Joe Hart, with the 37-year-old set to retire after the Scottish Cup final.
With multiple Premier League clubs keeping tabs on his situation, Kelleher will be offered the chance to become first-choice for a new club as well as his country next season.

However, it has been suggested that he could remain the second-choice to Allison in a high-flying Liverpool team despite the desire to play regular football, with an important call to be made.
In other news, Alexis Mac Allister’s stance on leaving Liverpool has been revealed.
