Kieran Maguire: Edouard has run out of options amid 'staggering' Celtic reveal
Odsonne Edouard is pricing himself out of a Celtic exit with his “staggering” wage demands.
So says finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Frenchman’s plans to fashion a Parkhead exit.
The Scottish Sun reported on 14 August that Edouard, who has just a year remaining on his contract, wants at least £85,000-a-week at his next club.
Football Insider first broke news on 14 August that Ligue 1 side OGC Nice are weighing up an official bid to sign the centre-forward.
Brighton are also interested in signing Edouard and opened talks to sign him earlier this month, as revealed by this site.
But Maguire argues that it is inconceivable that anyone will bow to his wage demands on top of a transfer fee.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “I think that eliminates Celtic and an awful lot of clubs, full stop.
“It’s a staggering amount of money. Edouard is unproven at Premier League level and he appeared to be going through the motions last season.“
“The danger is that no one will be willing to pay on top of that money a £25million transfer fee for a player that is out of contract in 12 months.
“You look at the total cost of recruiting a player over a contract period. That’s amortisation, which is transfer fee plus wage.
“The less you pay by picking players up on a free, the more you can afford to pay in wages.“
