Celtic supporters react on Twitter after bid is reportedly rejected

Celtic have reportedly turned down a bid from Chelsea for Craig Gordon – and fans on Twitter have provided mixed views.

The Scottish Sun have claimed on Thursday afternoon that the Scottish giants have rejected an offer from their English counterparts and that they do not want to sell.

It is believed that the Blues are now looking for a backup to goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois with current deputy Asmir Begovic looking likely to head to Bournemouth in a £12million deal.

Gordon, who is a first team regular,  recently played for the Hoops in their 1-0 win against St Johnstone on Wednesday night.

One fan stated that as long as he is a regular at the club then he will not be leaving Scotland to go to England and be a backup.

While another supporter believes that manager Brendan Rodgers will find it difficult to replace the shot stopper so late into the window.

Gordon spent a five-year period playing in the Premier League for Sunderland, but he did spend a large amount of time on the sidelines as he struggled with injury and game time.

That is why a certain section of the Celtic support cannot see him leaving because they believe he will be back up to number one keeper Courtois.

Furthermore, another fan stated that even if the Belgian were to leave the current Premier League leaders then he cannot see Gordon claiming the number spot.

Overall, supporters provided mixed views on their player and the reported rejected bid from the London-based club.
