Celtic tipped to strike £3m Carter-Vickers deal after confirmed news- Scottish pundit

Alan Hutton has tipped Celtic to negotiate a deal worth £3million to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers permanently from Tottenham.

The former Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the Bhoys could convince Spurs to sell for a cut-price with the inclusion of add-ons and sell-on fees.

As reported by the Scottish Sun (25 December), Celtic want to seal a £6million deal to turn Carter-Vickers’ loan move permanent next month.

Ange Postecoglou confirmed he wants the centre-back tied dow, having failed to seal a permanent deal in the summer.

However, Hutton suggested the £6million fee is too high for a player who has “not played a lot of football” during his career.

He suggested Celtic could agree a half-price deal, with added incentives to sweeten the deal for Spurs.

“I think £6million is high,” Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.

“There is potential there and he’s still young enough to be able to develop.

“He’s not played a lot of football, out with the likes of a loan at Bournemouth and a couple more.

“I think it they’re talking £3million, round about that mark, maybe with some sort of sell-on fees or incentives.

“That’s more realistic at this moment in time.

“If they could do it for roundabout that price, I think that will be a great deal.”
