Kieran Maguire: Celtic to go beyond ‘£100m’ as historic feat on the cards
Celtic could go beyond £100million in turnover for only the second time in their history next season.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the Hoops were crowned Scottish Premiership champions on Wednesday (11 May).
Ange Postecoglou’s side clinched a 10th title in 11 years after a 1-1 draw at Dundee United and followed that result up with a 6-0 victory procession against Motherwell on Saturday (14 May).
As relayed by BBC Sport last Wednesday (4 May), this season’s champions gain direct passage to the Champions League group stage in 2022-23.
And Maguire claims that Celtic could repeat their feat from 2018 and surpass nine figures in revenue next term.
“There will be a bonus from sponsors,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“However, it won’t be a significant one given that at the start of the season, there is a 50 per cent chance of them winning it. That will have been factored into negotiations.
“The guaranteed participation in the Champions League is worth far more.
“In 2018, Celtic became the first club in Scottish history to generate £100m in revenue. That was on the back of qualification for the Champions League. They will be hoping to replicate that in 2022-23.”

Celtic’s revenue last season totalled £52.9m, although the figures were impacted heavily by the absence of fans at Parkhead.
They could be joined by Rangers in the Champions League if they win the Europa League final next Wednesday (18 May)
