Celtic won’t be losing any sleep at all over Ibrox cash injection

The big news to come out of Scottish football in recent times is the revelation from Rangers supremo Dave King that the club aims to raise £6million from a share issue.
The news was revealed by STV reporter Raman Bhardwaj on his personal Twitter account.
The fact that Steven Gerrard will only be given £6million of additional funds for his Ibrox budget is unlikely to cause Celtic to lose any sleep, in fact they will probably think it is amusing.
If the Gers are to come close to challenging a Celtic side which is making millions from qualifying from the Champions League, they are going to need a far bigger injection of cash, and with King’s revelation that at the moment there is ‘no external investment’ coming into the club the Ibrox side are going to stay far behind the Hoops.
If the Hoops make some astute signings in the summer, then they could move even further ahead of the Ibrox side, no matter how much money is injected into the Ibrox side.
Only time will tell of course, but at the moment unless big money is put into the Ibrox coffers then they will remain firmly behind a Hoops side which has just clinched its’ seventh title in a row and is on the verge of a second successive domestic treble.
