Chelsea backed to accept ‘£100m’ Reece James offer amid ‘massive’ claim – pundit

Alan Hutton has suggested it could cost Real Madrid “£100million” if they want to sign Reece James from Chelsea.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa right-back insisted it will be “very difficult” for James to turn down an offer from Madrid.

The 23-year-old recently committed his long-term future to the Blues by penning a new deal that runs until 2028.

The Spanish giants are ready to make a fresh bid to sign the England international if Chelsea are forced to offload players this summer to balance out their massive spending in recent windows.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are long-term admirers of the right-back and reportedly made an approach to sign him last year.

Hutton insisted James will listen to offers but it will be a big ask to lure him away from Stamford Bridge.

It would be very difficult to turn Real Madrid down,” he told Football Insider.

It is one of those iconic teams. It does not matter where you are playing if the likes of Real Madrid come in for you then you are going to stop and listen.

I think Reece James is an outstanding footballer, I know he has had his injury problems but Chelsea are a better team when he is fully fit and playing.

He signed a new long-term contract so it is going to be massive money to get him out of there.

Even though we are talking about Real Madrid, but are they going to pay £100m for a full-back? But if they are in for you of course you are going to listen.
