Chelsea urged not to sell Renato Veiga as ‘incredible’ stats emerge – fans stunned

Chelsea fans have urged the club not to see Renato Veiga at the end of the season after his impressive stats emerged for Juventus on Tuesday (11 February).

The 21-year-old joined the Serie A side on loan until the end of the season during the January transfer window in a bid to secure more regular playing time.

Veiga has played two full league games since joining Juventus and made his Champions League debut for the club against PSV Eindhoven.

Juventus picked up a 2-1 victory in the first leg as the Portugal international was able to showcase himself as a central defender.

Veiga thrived throughout the game by making 76 touches, three clearances, three recoveries, and one block.

The Chelsea loanee also showed his qualities on the ball by being accurate with 60 out of his 66 passes, and 11 of his 14 long balls.

Renato Veiga’s future is up in the air at Chelsea

Veiga only joined Chelsea from Basel last summer for £11.8million on a seven-year contract, but he struggled to break into the team regularly.

Enzo Maresca primarily used him as a cover left-back or a central midfielder, but Veiga’s preferred position is to be centre-back.

The Portuguese star featured 16 times during his spell at Stamford Bridge, but it remains to be seen whether or not the club will opt to keep him after this loan or if he will be sold permanently.

Chelsea fans want Renato Veiga to get a second chance amid Levi Colwill claim

Veiga might currently be out of the Chelsea squad but supporters want to see him given a second chance after he returns in the summer.

The Blues fans believe he’s “better than Colwill” as fans have told the club that they “should not sell this guy.”
