‘Chido Obi-Martin has embarrassed £72m Man United star’ – fans erupt
Man United fans have expressed frustration with Rasmus Hojlund after the club were knocked out of the FA Cup by Fulham.
Man United were eliminated following a tense 4-3 penalty shootout loss to Fulham, with the match having finished 1-1 after extra time.
The away side took the lead just before half-time through Calvin Bassey, but Bruno Fernandes equalised in the second half, sending the game to penalties.
Joshua Zirkzee, alongside Victor Lindelof, missed a penalty in the shootout. Zirkzee sent a message to Man United supporters after the defeat as his penalty miss was decisive and sent Fulham through.
Hojlund, who started up front, struggled throughout the match, failing to make an impact before being substituted for 17-year-old Chido Obi-Martin after 68 minutes.
Obi’s performance in the latter stages of the game was a stark contrast to Hojlund’s, with the young striker impressing after coming on.

Man United to face decision over Rasmus Hojlund amid poor form
Hojlund has faced growing criticism from Man United fans this season, with his goal record continuing to disappoint.
The Danish striker, who was signed in the summer of 2023 for £64m plus £8m of add-ons, has now gone 18 games in all competitions without finding the back of the net, his last goal coming on 7 December against Nottingham Forest.
In total, he has managed just seven goals across all competitions, with only two of those coming in the Premier League from 35 appearances for the club.
Amid his struggles, Man United have been linked with a move for Viktor Gyokeres, with the Swedish striker the club’s top target for the summer.
Hojlund, who arrived at Old Trafford in 2023 for a significant £72 million fee, was signed by former manager Erik ten Hag. However, it now appears that manager Ruben Amorim may be considering other options, with many fans voicing similar sentiments.

Man United fans favour Chido Obi-Martin over Rasmus Hojlund
Amorim has faced criticism from Man United supporters for regularly starting Hojlund, but after the striker was substituted for 17-year-old Chido Obi in the recent match against Fulham, many fans believe changes could be on the horizon.
Obi made an impression on Man United fans since rejecting a chance to stay at Arsenal last summer in favour of joining the Red Devils.
The young striker has netted 12 goals in the U18 Premier League and the FA Youth Cup this season. His cameo appearance in the Fulham game further endeared him to supporters, many of whom are now calling for him to start over Hojlund in the next fixture. One fan even said, “I know Chido Obi isn’t ready yet, but I’d rather watch him than Hojlund.”
