Cole Palmer ‘won’t quit Chelsea’ after ‘huge’ development – expert
Cole Palmer is “better off staying” at Chelsea despite their struggles on the pitch this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham United and Celtic striker Frank McAvennie predicted that the often faltering Blues will soon become a quality side again and Palmer, 21, will earn vast experience from his debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.
The England international has been Chelsea’s most influential player having bagged 23 goals and 13 assists across 40 outings in all competitions this season.
Following sporadic outings for Man City before his reported £42.5million move in the summer, he has emerged as one of the Premier League’s best talents and Football Insider revealed (19 April) that the Blues now value him at up to £100million.
Palmer should stay at ‘slowly improving’ Chelsea – McAvennie
McAvennie claimed that Palmer would struggle to earn minutes at other clubs, including Man City and Liverpool, and suggested staying at Chelsea is a good move for his long-term career.
“I think Chelsea will eventually get it right and they’re slowly improving,” he told Football Insider.
“He left Man City, so where would he go where he could get as much game time as he’s getting at Chelsea?
“No matter how good he’s been at Chelsea, he’d never get a game at Man City because they have Kevin De Bruyne.
“There’s Man United, but they’re all over the place at the moment.
“Palmer would be great there, but he’s better off staying at Chelsea.

“He’ll be happy in London, he’ll be earning a huge amount of money and he’ll be quite settled.
“He’s getting great experience and the club will be there or thereabouts in the next couple of years.”
