Everton attacker confirms return to training after injury
By Harvey Byrne
Emerging starlet Dominic Calvert-Lewin has provided Everton with a boost after he returned to first team training on Monday afternoon.
The 19-year-old attacker has been out of action for the Toffees since suffering a malleolar injury at the beginning of January during the 3-0 victory over Southampton.
He has missed the Merseyside giants’ last seven matches in all competitions, but before the injury he was breaking into the Everton first team after making his debut against Arsenal in December.
Ronald Koeman has looked to include a number of youngsters around the first team with Tom Davies and Ademola Lookman currently featuring regularly.
Now, Calvert-Lewin will be aiming to make his return to the team after he shared to supporters on his personal Instagram account that he was back in training.
Calvert-Lewin was brought in by Koeman in the summer from League One outfit Sheffield United for £1.5million after looking a bright prospect in Yorkshire.
He has since played in five senior matches for Everton with four appearances coming in the Premier League.
It is expected that Everton’s fixture against Tottenham on Sunday will come too early for Calvert-Lewin, but fans and the player himself will be hoping to make a return to the first team soon.
In other Everton news, this midfielder has signed for the Toffees after agreeing terms.
