Medical expert reveals if Tyrick Mitchell will play v Chelsea after ‘revealing’ Crystal Palace news

Tyrick Mitchell will be available for Crystal Palace when they face Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday (17 April).

That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.

Mitchell, 22, was forced off after half an hour in Palace’s 2-1 defeat to Leicester City last Sunday (10 April).

Patrick Vieira revealed after the match that the left-back “felt something on his calf” and was taken off as a precautionary measure, per football.london.

Mitchell has been one of Palace’s standout performers this term and has missed just one game all season.

And Dinnery predicts that the defender, who won his first England caps in March, will be available for the clash at Wembley.

“I would say there is a very good chance that he will feature,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.

“They brought him off with one eye on the semi-final because of the gravity of that fixture.

“They didn’t want to take any chances and they hope they have caught it before anything too bad has happened.

“If it was just a little bit of tightness, that’s revealing. He stands every chance.

“He will have been sent for imaging and as long as that comes back all clear, he will be in a good position to feature in that semi-final.”

Mitchell has contributed two assists in his 35 appearances this term.

Teammate Michael Olise, who has been sidelined with a minor foot problem, is also expected to be fit for Sunday.
