Crystal Palace news: Medical expert reveals if Michael Olise will be fit for Chelsea showdown

Crystal Palace star Michael Olise should recover in time for the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea on Sunday (17 April).

That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.

Olise, 20, has been absent from the matchday squad in Palace’s last two matches due to inflammation in his left foot.

As quoted by the Evening Standard last Friday (8 April), Patrick Vieira remarked “we have to see how he will improve” ahead of the Chelsea clash.

The wide man has started all of Palace’s FA Cup ties in 2021-22, playing a direct role in five of their 10 goals in their run to the semi-final.

And Dinnery predicts that the London-born youngster will be ready to play a role at Wembley on Sunday.

“He has been back on the training pitches this week,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.

“So, of course, We have to see what kind of response he has and if he can come through those sessions okay. That is the most important thing here.

“But I can see him being named in that matchday squad, maybe among the substitutes against Chelsea. I expect that should all be fine.

Olise signed for Palace in an £8million switch from Queens Park Rangers in July last year.

His 26 appearances for his new club have yielded four goals and eight assists.
