Dan James will cause havoc at Leeds United – Campbell
Kevin Campbell insists Dan James is an ideal signing for Leeds as he suits their style of play.
The Arsenal icon, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the Whites’ late business.
Leeds confirmed on deadline day they had completed the signing of James, 23, as he penned a five-year deal.
He moves to Elland Road after almost signing for the club two years ago.
After that move fell through, the Wales international joined Manchester United and made 74 total appearances for the club.
Campbell insists James is perfect for Leeds but claimed he may have taken some convincing to leave Old Trafford.
“You always have to convince a player who is playing for Manchester United and playing games,” Campbell told Football Insider assistant editor Dylan Childs.
“Man United have so many good players there. They are waiting for Jadon Sancho to get fully fit to so James’ minutes will be restricted.
“At the end of the day, nothing beats playing football. Leeds were interested when he was at Swansea.
“It’s funny how he ends up there now, I think he’ll be a brilliant signing.
“The way Leeds play will suit him. He’s perfect for Leeds. On the counterattack he’s got jet pace hasn’t he?
“It’s going to be an interesting one but who does he come in for?”

James’ Man United career got off to a flying start after he scored on his debut against Chelsea.
However, his form fell away and he rapidly fell down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
