Daniel Farke sack payout revealed as 49ers jet in to finalise Leeds decision
Daniel Farke is facing sack pressure at Leeds United despite guiding the club back to the Premier League this season.
Reports emerged last week suggesting Farke is not safe at Elland Road despite delivering automatic promotion.
The Guardian reported on Monday (28 April) that 49ers chief and Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe is flying in from San Francisco for talks on the manager’s future.
Football Insider revealed last week (25 April) that Jose Mourinho, Steven Gerrard and Lee Carsley are all under consideration at the Yorkshire giants.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – revealed the potential payoff Farke could receive if he is to sacked.

Leeds could give Farke £5m sack pay-off, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness claimed Farke could get up to £5million – depending on how Leeds “conduct themselves”.
The German, who oversaw a play-off final defeat against Southampton last year (2024), is under contract until June 2027.
Wyness claimed Farke likely has a promotion bonus in his deal at Elland Road.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Paraag Marathe is flying in from San Francisco to meet with Farke this week.
“I don’t know whether he’s there to back him, or to say thanks but no thanks as they look forward.
“I think Farke has two years left on his deal, but there’s a one-year break clause. Which means he’d be due one years salary, or around £2million.
“There will be promotion bonuses in there as well.
“Given Farke has got them promoted, it will be pretty hard to get rid of him now. If they do, they’ll have to settle and show some sort of recognition of what he’s done.
“They may settle on a number closer to £5million – or decide to pay the minimum contractual amount. It depends on how Leeds want to conduct themselves.”

‘Leeds could land Soucek for £10m’
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (25 April) that West Ham will listen to offers of £10-15million for Tomas Soucek amid interest from Leeds United.
Soucek, 30, is seen as the “ideal” option to strengthen their squad and could be allowed to leave West Ham after dropping out of Graham Potter’s starting XI.
Leeds are aiming to establish themselves in the Premier League, and are determined not to suffer the same fate as Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton this season.
