David Sullivan and Daniel Kretinsky told to accept West Ham takeover offer by ex-CEO – ‘Take it and go’
West Ham United’s owners should be looking to sell the club after recording a loss of over £100million in their latest financial accounts.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes a “major move” could happen soon.
David Sullivan and Karren Brady have been under pressure to resign from their roles at the club this season, with West Ham fans supporting a change in ownership.
West Ham’s finances could be hit with a further blow if the club are relegated from the Premier League this season, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side currently in the bottom three on goal difference.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes West Ham would have to “sell a lot of players” to repair their financial state.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks the ownership should “take what they can and move on.”
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “To me, it’s all pointing towards a sale of the club at some stage.
“And it’ll be whether they stay up or whether they go to a Championship club, become a Championship club, there’ll have to be a sale of West Ham at some stage. So to me, it looks on the cards. There’s going to have to be a major move of some description.
“Otherwise, Sullivan, [Daniel] Kretinsky and [Vanessa] Gold are going to have to put money in to seriously repair these sort of accounts and or sell a lot of the players. Now, again, if you’re in the Championship, you may be able to sell some players and bring in Championship-type players.
“But if you stay in the Premiership, I’m afraid you’re to have to improve and get better so you don’t have the same thing again this year. So either way, to me, it’s just pointing towards time to sell the asset. Take what you can and move on.”

West Ham star expected to leave amid financial news
Sources have told Football Insider that West Ham could be forced to sell Crysencio Summerville in order to begin balancing the books.
Summerville could be one of the club’s most prized assets in the summer owing to his excellent form recently, with seven goals and one assist in his last 11 games in all competitions.
The 24-year-old joined West Ham from Leeds United in 2024 for £25m, with his contract at the London Stadium not expiring until 2029.
