Davinson Sanchez and four other Tottenham stars set to quit within weeks – expert
Alan Hutton has suggested Tottenham fans should expect to see a number of long-serving players leave this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs defender said that “fresh blood” is what’s needed at the club to shift their mentality.
Last week (18 May), the Lilywhites confirmed that Lucas Moura is set to leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Long-serving goalkeeper Hugo Lloris could also leave at the end of the current campaign ahead of his contract expiring in 2024 with a “jaw-dropping” offer from Saudi Arabia on the table.
Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez out of contract at the end of next season when he could leave the club for free and there is still uncertainty over Harry Kane who has been the subject of big transfer interest ahead of the upcoming window.
When asked if there are players within the current Spurs squad that are ready to take on a leadership role if some of the more senior players depart, Hutton told Football Insider: “I think there will be.
“If you ask most supporters would say that out-with Kane it is probably time for a change of personnel, it is probably time for them to move on.
“The likes of Sanchez that have been there for a long period of time and it has not worked. It is the ideal opportunity, they are running their contracts down, to move them on and get other people in.
“Try and shift the mentality and bring in young guys who are hungry and want to go and do something.

“When you have had a lot of players from the [Mauricio] Pochettino era moving forward with all this baggage, it is difficult to turn that round.
“I think you have to inject fresh blood into the group if you want to change it.“
In other news, Tottenham now turn attention to Ange Postecoglou and sacked Premier League manager.
