Dominik Szoboszlai ‘could be moving to Real Madrid’ after Liverpool ‘truth revealed’

Liverpool are increasingly likely to see midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai leave the club for Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who states Real Madrid will freshen their squad up in the summer.

Hungary manager Marco Rossi claims that Szoboszlai’s dream is to play for the Spanish club, who signed Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool at the end of last season.

Liverpool’s transfer activity could see them forced to replace Szoboszlai, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid due to his outstanding form at Anfield this season in a variety of positions.

Dominik Szoboszlai ‘would like to go’ to Real Madrid

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes Real Madrid are “not happy behind the scenes” due to on-pitch performances.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks Szoboszlai could end up signing for Real Madrid in the summer.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think Real Madrid are definitely going to be looking to freshen up themselves because they’re not happy behind the scenes there either right now.

“They’re not really performing at the levels they expected to be, certainly in Europe especially. And I think that yes, Szoboszlai could be one of those that could be moving to Real Madrid.

“So I think there is some smoke without fire there. And I think that, thanks to the Hungarian manager, he’s pointed it out. And I think that’s revealed the truth of where Szoboszlai would like to go if he gets a chance.

Liverpool seek defensive reinforcements

Sources have told Football Insider of Liverpool’s plans to sign a new right-back in the summer transfer window due to Conor Bradley’s injury problems.

Bradley is currently out with a knee injury, with no exact timeframe over when the 22-year-old will return to action, leaving Jeremie Frimpong as the only natural right-back at Arne Slot’s disposal.

Frimpong has also had time on the sidelines this season, whilst the Dutchman has fared better going forward than defensively.
