Done deal: Celtic midfielder secures immediate exit after paperwork finalised
Celtic have confirmed that midfielder Mark Hill has joined Championship club St Mirren on loan until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old has been a regular in the development squad and signed a new three-year contract in May 2017.
Now he goes out on loan to seek game time ahead of a return to Celtic to try and break through into the first-team squad.
The news was announced on the official Celtic twitter page on Tuesday morning.
Hill has come up through the youth ranks at Celtic and has played 15 games in the UEFA Youth League.
Football Insider verdict:
Hill is highly thought of at Celtic but he’s a long way from a highly competitive first-team squad under Brendan Rodgers. This will be a good move in an environment where he should get regular first-team football. St Mirren are currently eight points clear at the top of the Championship and it will give Hill a taste of the pressure at the top – something he’ll have to get used to if he wants to make a career at Celtic.
