Done deal: Rangers agree terms with international ace after paperwork finalised
Rangers have agreed to sign Declan John from Cardiff City on a permanent transfer, it was announced on Friday.
The Scottish giants revealed on their official website and social media channels that the left-back, 22, has agreed the terms of a three-and-half year contract.
This ties John to Ibrox until the summer of 2022.
Rangers have made a winter swoop for the Wales international, 22, after being impressed by his performances since moving to Ibrox in August on loan from Cardiff City.
John had been in the final year of his contract at Cardiff, who have decided to cash in on him in January rather than allow him to run down his contract next summer.
Football Insider verdict
This is a smart signing by Rangers. They have had a good look at John, who has been one of the team’s most impressive performers since becoming a fixture in the team in the absence of skipper Lee Wallace. Solid in defence and a major threat bombing forward, John has been one of the first names on the teamsheet during the reign of Graeme Murty and Rangers have done well to get this deal wrapped up well in advance of the window.
