Done deal: 21-year-old signs after Nottingham Forest agree terms
By Matt Bullin
Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Hibernian ace Jason Cummings, it has been confirmed.
The 21-year-old striker has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal and he arrives for an undisclosed fee.
Forest announced the news on their official website and on their official Twitter account on Saturday morning.
Cummings was in fine form for Hibs last term, scoring 19 goals in 31 Scottish Championship outings, as well as providing six assists.
He was also crucial in the club’s passage to the latter stages of the Scottish Cup, bagging four goals in five games on his side’s route to the semi-finals.
The 21-year-old broke into Hibernian’s first team in January 2014, and he went on to make 149 appearances in all competitions, which yielded 71 goals and 23 assists.
Cummings has been capped by Scotland Under-21s on eight occasions, and he has netted three times.
Football Insider verdict
Forest struggled for goals last season as they were almost relegated from the Championship, but if Cummings can continue with the fine start he has made to his career – goals will not be a problem anymore. He has been truly prolific for Hibs since he broke into the first team as an 18-year-old, scoring at nearly a goal every other game. The Scot is also highly-rated by the national set up, and he has been capped by the Under-19s and Under-21s, and if he fires for Forest a call-up to the senior squad may be on the horizon.
