Eddie Howe sack latest: O’Rourke shares ‘big’ Newcastle update

Eddie Howe is not under any growing pressure at Newcastle United despite their difficult start to the season, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the -year-old has “all the backing that he needs” in order to remain the manager.

The Magpies are currently 12th in the Premier League table, which is not where the club envisioned themselves to be at this stage.

However, Newcastle’s big 2-0 midweek win against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup has eased any growing pressure on Howe.

Newcastle have a quarter-final tie at home against Brentford, with the expectation being that they will be able to reach the semi-finals in December.

The Toon Army wants silverware this season, and there is a growing demand on the manager and team from that perspective.

Eddie Howe has the full backing of Newcastle United’s hierarchy

Newcastle might have made a below-par start, but Howe’s position at the club is strong and he has plenty of credit in the bank after what he’s achieved during his tenure.

Football Insider revealed that the board are aware of the difficulties the club have faced in the transfer market, which impacted Howe’s ability to strengthen the team.

Newcastle missed out on signing Marc Guehi during the summer transfer window, which did lead to Howe’s relationship with Paul Mitchell turning “frosty.”
