Eden Hazard delivers verdict on Tottenham title hopes
By Dominic Toner
Eden Hazard believes that Arsenal and Manchester United pose a greater threat to Chelsea’s title hopes than Tottenham.
Chelsea attacker Hazard has been a standout performer for his side this season and the Blues are nine points clear at the top of the Premier League.
London rivals Spurs are currently second-placed in the table and part of the chasing pack trying to catch the runaway leaders.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are regarded as one of the main contenders, but Hazard feels that they face tougher competition from some of their other rivals.
“I think Arsenal and Manchester United [are the biggest title rivals],” Hazard said, as quoted by Sky Sports. “United has a bad first part of the season and I think for a couple of games now, they played well.
“Tottenham also are strong. We lost there, but for me it is more Manchester United. They are more experienced. That is my opinion, maybe I’m wrong.”
Spurs will be desperate to prove Hazard wrong and prepare a late bid to claim their first ever Premier League.
The north London club challenged for the league title last season, but ended up in third place as Leicester claimed an unlikely bid.
Spurs recently defeated Chelsea in January 2-0 at White Hart Lane and ended their unbeaten run.
However, Antonio Conte’s side are still in pole position to win the league and it will take a remarkable run from Spurs to overtake them.
